Señoras y señores, con mucho pesar, el Eccles Shopping Centre ha dejado de ser el lugar que era en su momento. Hace tiempo tenía una foto booth, un parque de ferrocarriles y tiendas como Wilko, Farmfoods y una bancaria. Ahora solo queda las tiendas de caridad. Adiós Eccles

The main Eccles Shopping Centre itself is now almost completely empty, pending demolition. Other adjacent businesses are still operating. I've added photos taken on 04/10/2024

Literally just a ghost town now. They used to have a photo booth and some trains ouside wilko, Seating in the middle & a couple of banks. Even 1 of the guniels are closed off. Halifax & farmfoods will be the next to leave so its not going well. All thats left is charity shops. The demolition has begun. Say your last goodbyes.

Good to see that investment is going to be put into the town centre to make it a nicer area. Still a greggs, cafe, wilkinsons and a few other shops there But also the fantastic 'Spotlight on Eccles' Display is on till end of December in the empty shops

These Days I'm a bit more optimistic about Eccles. Things seem to be changing like the large development where Booth Furniture and the Top House pub used to be, things are looking up. I have also noticed that the multistorey Carpark was just painted with a Mureal in the mall square also there are Art shops nice Coffee shops modern Hair dressing for the Ladies and Cafes not forgetting Eccles is one of the only Towns that as the Metro Transport to Manchester via Salford City. So it is not all Dome and glume as most reviews have given it's not just Pound Shops and charity Shops. So please don't Wright off Eccles there may be a HOPE for the place yet.

It used to be a thriving bustling place to go shopping. Many shops closed but Im sure over the next few years money is going to be spent upgrading and gentrifying the whole shopping centre. Update - I visited Eccles shopping centre again recently just before the demolition of the multi storey car park which is happening in Sept 2024. You'll find Eccles shopping centre very close to Eccles Tram Stop, opposite Eccles Interchange in Salford City. It is a vast collection of shops like most other shopping centres within the city. Not particularly cosy, but decent enough to meet most of your shopping needs. Shops like Wilko, Peacock, Eccles Market, British Heart Foundation, British Red Cross, Eccles Pharmacy, Greggs, Home Bargains, SpecSavers, Salford Charities 2geda, and a host of others can be found in this complex, and this kind of adds an exciting variety to the things one can find in this place. You'll find quite a number of charity shops here if that piques your interest. The complex was not busy at all the day I went there, but I can't say if that is the usual feel, or if one should attribute that to covid.

Depressing whats happened to the place, used to be a nice spot to just sit down and have a hot chocolate, now it's a charity shop wasteland. I blame the PGMOL.
