You're in the very best of hands with Alex and the Longboard School. At the relatively fool hardy age of almost 60, I decided it would be fun(!?) to give longboarding a go as a new way for a work out! I booked up for a double lesson, with more than a fair share of trepidation. But fears were soon put to bed; Alex was absolutely great. We started with a really gentle workout to find out more about my flexibility and balance, and how these things affected control of the longboard. We then shifted to static exercises on the board and moving between stances. This all came into its own when we moved to riding the longboard. Everything was done in a measured and totally accessible way, with no pressure or rush. I got great feedback on how I was getting on and what to adjust. I felt in control and relaxed, and it was hugely rewarding to have the basics down and be safely boarding by the end of the session. A huge thanks Alex, for your patience and skills that got me started on my boarding journey. What a joy!!

We had the best time in our first class, thank you! We were a little bit nervous initially as we've only tried skating (unsuccessfully) once or twice when we were younger. Teresa and Alex spent a good amount of time on warmup and learning the basics before we even hit the concrete and we felt we were in very safe hands. Top marks to Longboard School! I was able to book a lesson last minute, and appreciated the very clear information both on the website and ahead of the lesson. The two hour lesson itself was ideally paced, and I went from someone who had essentially no skill and confidence, to being able to balance and push the board. If this 52-year old can do it, so can you!

Awesome people, fabulous lesson. I wasn't just chucked on a board and told to get on with it. I met with Alex and he patiently took me through how to balance on a board (much harder than you think), what stretches to do that will help, how to push, where to place my feet, how to turn. All in 2 hours with a fantastic chat throughout. I can't recommend Alex and Teresa enough and will be going back for sure - much more confident than I was before and keen to take things to the next step. Thank you Alex and Teresa 🙏

I had my first lesson with Alex on Sunday in the beautiful Victoria Park. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I had an amazing two hours of fun. Alex is a gifted teacher who knows how to inspire confidence in a beginner. Safety is paramount and I felt comfortable immediately and was quickly boarding along. I came away with enough knowledge to practice and begin boarding on my own. I can’t wait for my next session. Teresa demonstrated some amazing skills on her board and it was great to see what one can achieve with great teachers. I would highly recommend Guanabara for anyone looking to learn or improve longboarding.

I booked a 2 hour longboarding class for my ten year old daughter and me in Greenwich park. It was definitely the highlight of our London trip! Especially my daughter made amazing progress on the board. For her, it was not only a longboarding experience, but also one of learning and experiencing English. I was able to improve my curving technique and Terese showed us valuable exercises to improve our balance. Terese and Alex are both amazing teachers and adapted their class to our respective levels. We will sure be coming back and taking another class! ❤️
