If you look in the dictionary on the definition of what a Mom & Pop shop is, then you'll likely find Petrie's Game shop 🤣. Seriously, this shop is AWESOME 💯. It's small, but cozy. It doesn't have that crowded feeling and there is a huge open game room next door that you can go play for fun or come on their even nights. Tons of games to choose from, ranging from puzzles, family games, complex games, table top gaming, figures and lots of different trading card games. I work next door and even though I'm not a huge card game guy or board games, I still love coming over to look and sometimes dabble in something new. Plus the staff is super friendly. 10 / 10 recommend that you at least come to this shop at least once!

This place is great if you’re new to Magic or getting back into it after a few years. It was legitimately the only place I could find in the springs that had long boxes of bulk cards for the TCG prices. The people working there were super friendly and helpful and let us sit in the side room and look through cards for over an hour. No one makes you feel like you’re a newbie or out of place. And I was able to pick out and buy 2 decks worth of cards for under $30 which is just awesome. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Pretty slick place they have a lot of games that you can check out for free. They apparently have game nights for various things. The people who run it give me the "comic book guy" vibes from the Simpsons but they were nice and courteous. Planning on going back to check out some games and buy some more.

Petrie’s has a great selection but the employees are rather rude, lazy, and don’t give you the appropriate pricing on used cards. I was recently sold moderately played cards for the price of near mint. It wasn’t until I got home, and took the cards out of the sleeves petries had them in, that I realized their conditions were far lower than what I paid for. If you want to ask an employee a question about a product, I’ve never heard a response other than, “I don’t know.” If you want to exchange your trading cards for store credit and a new set has come out around the same time, the lady employee will be more than happy to turn you down. She gets energetic to dismiss that but drags herself to do anything else. It comes off extremely rude. She’s always got an attitude. I saw another review on here saying the place doesn’t feel crowded. Try looking at mtg cards when one other person is too. You’ll be playing a lot of leap frog around each other. I used to love shopping here but every other store that sells mtg cards is a better option.

A very nice and welcoming family friendly locally owned game & puzzle store. From tabletop role playing games like Dungeons & Dragons to the latest and classic board games, Petrie's has many gaming choices for any type of genre or style you are looking for and the staff is very helpful to offer recommendations for a gift or information on games you're looking for. They will even order select items for you. Amongst the shelves of games you will also find a large amount of jigsaw puzzles and other like items that range from very simple to expert levels of difficulty. Kids to adults can find a whole lot of fun at Petrie's as they also have a large gaming room for pick up games, league play and tournaments of various games. There's even a section of games out ready to be played if you want to try something new. No matter the time of year Petrie's have you covered for your gaming needs!

Probably my fave game store in town; plenty of variety in the kinds of board games and tabletop games they sell, and a rather decent Magic selection to boot. Staff is always super helpful and friendly!

It's not just a store, it's a vibe, right? You walk in, and it's like stepping into your best friend's basement, but, you know, a really organized basement. The kind where all the cool stuff is neatly stacked and ready to be explored. You get that whiff of cardboard and plastic, the kind that just screams "adventure awaits!" And the people! Never judged us for asking a million questions, just genuinely stoked to share their passion. That's Petrie's, man. They’re not just selling games; they're selling experiences, like a good bartender slings drinks with a side of wisdom. They've got everything, from the classics your grandma would play to the latest sensation that you saw on that YouTube channel you're obsessed with. And if they don't have it? They’ll hunt it down for you like a pack of determined squirrels after a nut. And let's be real, the tournaments? The game nights? Pure, unadulterated fun. Even when you're getting absolutely demolished in a round of Magic, Lorcana, SWU, or Flesh and blood, you're still laughing. It's that kind of place. Honestly, it's the kind of spot you want to support. It's real, it's genuine, and it's filled with people who love games as much as we do. So, next time you're itching for a new board game, or just want to hang out and roll some dice, skip the big box stores and head to Petrie's. You won't regret it. And hey, maybe we'll run into each other there, and I can finally show you my killer deck. Just sayin'.

A great local game store with a really nice selection of games. They have a really good used selection on top of their new titles, and a nice space for gaming. It’s really good to have a store like this in my area.
