Hot Topic

The service here usually seems pretty crappy but, recently I worked with someone new here, his name was Josh I think, he has long black hair but wanted to recognize him for being so kind to me I had a million questions and in most others eyes got kind of annoying but he continued to treat me kindly and then even helped me to get what I really went in there for.

I had the most wonderful experience in this store. I was looking for something to wear to the One Republic Concert, and the staff was very helpful. I’m on the bigger side, and i haven’t gotten dressed up in a while, (the concert was on my wedding anniversary) so i had no idea where to start. There were two girls there helping me. I wish i had gotten their names, but one had long green hair and the other had blonde hair. I think one of them was named Cate? They were incredibly helpful and helped me pick out an outfit from beginning to end. They let me try everything on until i found something that made me feel pretty again. They helped me accessorize with jewelry and tights, and overall were just very sweet girls. I walked out of the Hot Topic feeling like i was 25 again! And my husband adored the outfit. Thank you again, next time i need to get dressed up again i know I’ll be coming back here. The few other times ive been in have been great as well, this one just really stood out. The whole staff takes such good care of you and really makes you feel welcome.

I've been debating on whether to post this or not, however it has been eating at me and my wife. Around late july me and my spouse had gone into this HotTopic over here at Chapel Hills. We were shopping for my kids birthday. We originally walked in thinking it would be a typical trainwreck where the employees wouldn't greet us, and yet there was one that did. Some guy, very sweet, I don't remember his name, but he was wearing a hoodie or something. Anyways, that was one of the best greetings we had ever had in a Hottopic. Now a few minutes later of shopping, I heard some yelling and it looked like some girl at the counter was yelling at that guy. He looked visibly upset, and my wife pointed it out. When I had approached the guy and asked if he was okay, he smiled and said something on the lines of 'It's okay, you get used to it.' My wife was nearly in tears. The way he said it, implies that this must've happened in the store multiple times. We approached the counter to buy our stuff and the rest of the employees were all huddled talking to each other while that one gentleman was at the front greeting others. We waited a bit and decided to put the stuff back. I'm honestly shocked that Hottopic allows this to happen to their employees. It seems this is a reoccurring ordeal that happens at this location. I'm an owner of a small business and if any of my employees were being treated that way by any other staff, that staff would be immediately fired, with no exceptions. Hottopic is looking at a major lawsuit if this isn't changed, and I wouldn't blame that guy for getting an attorney. I won't be back unless they fix this, and I'll make sure to call their CS-Line. Also, if you're the gentleman reading this, just know Me and My wife are sorry for what that staff did to you, I wouldn't blame you if you sued this company for everything it has, and had that staff member fired. What a liability that one staff member is. Btw, the one yelling had Long Greenish hair, fyi.

Worst experience ever!!!! I won't be back. I went to this Hottopic store for a band-shirt for a concert I was going to. I had tried asking a few associates if they had the shirt I was looking for and for some reason they were all grouped together talking amongst each other instead of helping! I finally got one of their attention and was able to ask about the shirt. Which the employee had responded with and eyeroll and pointed to the back, as if it was an inconvenience to do their job! Some girl named cat, or Katt? I don't know her name but I would not have her in this business, she seems like a liability. At that point I had it up to the last straw with this business. I left and went to Spencers. Honestly Spencers did way more than this store could ever do. I won't be back and I will spread the word that Hottopic isn't for the customer.

I had a really awful experience in store today. A worker was super rude. I said I wanted two separate transactions and she said can I ask why? It's not their business if two people are shopping with money. I didn't not want to pay for everything on one card just because our products were together. She told me to pick out another item to use more hot cash. I declined and she said I was trying to make your purchase cheaper but whatever, but for some reason she had no issue being polite to the other person with me who was also shopping. Her name is Kate with blue green hair.

The staff here is totally awesome! They are so helpful. Ty and Kate are the best! This is my favorite hot topic by far.

Amazing experience. So much help from two very knowledgeable young ladies, Bella and Ty. They really went the extra mile and I’ll definitely shop with them again.
